Bhubaneswar: In Nuapada, a shocking incident has taken the political spotlight. On October 16, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi attended a campaign rally for the upcoming by-election. The local BJP unit had arranged food for the attendees, but with fewer people showing up than expected, a large quantity of food went to waste.
The leftover food was reportedly dumped outside, where stray cows consumed it. Soon after, more than 12 cows died, their stomachs swollen from eating the spoiled food. The incident has triggered outrage among locals, with many questioning how a party that speaks of “Gau Mata’s protection” could allow such negligence.
A woman whose two cows died has directly blamed Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, saying the BJP’s carelessness caused her loss. Meanwhile, political circles are abuzz with a different theory that this may be part of a larger conspiracy within the BJP itself to tarnish Mohan Majhi’s image and weaken candidate Jay Dholakia ahead of the bypoll.
The incident has become a political flashpoint, raising serious questions: Was it mere negligence or a deliberate ploy? Who is truly responsible for the death of the cows, and who stands to gain from Mohan Majhi’s embarrassment?
An impartial investigation is urgently needed to deliver justice and uncover whether this tragedy was just an accident or a political setup.
