Bhubaneswar: Fresh political discussions have erupted inside Odisha BJP and the wider political establishment after media reports linked BJP leader Dillip Mohanty with alleged influence over administrative transfers, postings and departmental matters connected to the state government.
According to reports published in a section of the media, Dillip Mohanty often seen accompanying Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi during political and administrative engagements has allegedly been associated with discussions surrounding IAS and OAS officer transfers as well as financial dealings linked to the Water Resources Department.
The allegations, though unverified officially, have quickly become a major subject of political discussion across Odisha’s power corridors and within BJP circles.
Opposition voices have begun questioning whether informal political influence is affecting administrative functioning in the state government. At the same time, sections within the BJP are also discussing whether the reports reflect genuine concerns or whether they are part of a larger internal political strategy aimed at targeting Dillip Mohanty.
Political observers believe the timing of the reports is significant, especially as Odisha BJP continues to witness growing internal speculation over leadership equations, organisational influence and future political positioning.
So far, there has been no formal response from Dillip Mohanty regarding the allegations. The Chief Minister’s Office has also not issued any official clarification on the matter.
The controversy has additionally renewed debate around transparency in transfers, departmental decision-making and the role of politically influential individuals operating close to power centres.
Analysts say that whether the allegations are ultimately proven true or politically motivated, the episode reflects increasing nervousness and factional undercurrents within Odisha BJP as the party navigates governance challenges and internal power dynamics.
The coming days are likely to determine whether the issue remains limited to political speculation or evolves into a larger administrative and political controversy.
