Bhubaneswar: A fresh political controversy has emerged in Odisha after reports surfaced that two important inquiry commission reports are allegedly missing from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO). The development has triggered an official investigation while simultaneously fueling a sharp political debate across the state.
Acting on a complaint from the Home Department, Capital Police have initiated an inquiry into the matter. Given the sensitivity of the issue, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted under the direct supervision of the Police Commissioner. The team reportedly includes an SP-rank officer and two inspectors.
Investigators have begun examining both manual and digital records related to the missing files. Officials associated with the concerned departments have also been questioned as part of the ongoing inquiry.
The controversy has emerged at a politically significant moment, with the BJP government in Odisha approaching the completion of two years in office. Opposition voices argue that the government must answer how important records could go missing from the highest administrative office after nearly two years of its own tenure.
