Bhubaneswar: Over the last 15 days, one name has been consistently trending in Odisha politics: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. After the NDA’s big victory in Bihar, the political discussion in Odisha has taken a new direction, and Dharmendra Pradhan’s role is being watched very closely.
A new political buzz started when three photos of Naveen Patnaik and Dharmendra Pradhan talking inside the Odisha Assembly premises went viral on social media. In these pictures, Naveen Patnaik is seen holding Dharmendra Pradhan’s hand and speaking to him in what looks like a very serious conversation. These visuals became the biggest talking point among political observers, party workers and social media users.
The main question now being asked everywhere is:
What message did Naveen Patnaik give to Dharmendra Pradhan?
There is also speculation on why Naveen Patnaik showed such seriousness during the interaction. Is he unhappy with the way the current Mohan Majhi government is functioning in Odisha? Or does he believe Dharmendra Pradhan should play a bigger role in Odisha politics?
Some online discussions have even gone so far as to ask whether Naveen Patnaik wants Dharmendra Pradhan to emerge as the future Chief Minister of the state.
These are opinions and interpretations coming from political circles and social media, not confirmed facts, but the buzz has definitely created a strong wave of interest.
What is clear is this:
Odisha’s political atmosphere has suddenly become more energetic, more unpredictable, and more focused on Dharmendra Pradhan than at any time in recent years.
The meeting photographs between two of Odisha’s tallest political leaders, Naveen Patnaik and Dharmendra Pradhan, have added new layers to the debate on alliances, future leadership, and the direction in which Odisha’s politics could be heading post-2025.
The coming days will tell whether this was just a friendly conversation or the beginning of a major political realignment in the state.
