New Delhi/Bhubaneswar, July 29:
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that the National Education Policy (NEP) is the most effective tool for achieving the dream of a ‘Developed India’, a goal set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He was speaking at the All India Education Summit 2025 in New Delhi, organised to mark the 5th anniversary of the NEP 2020.
During the event, Shri Pradhan unveiled education projects worth over ₹4,000 crore, which include the inauguration of new campuses and the foundation-laying of various educational initiatives. He emphasised that education will play a key role in transforming India into a developed nation by 2047.
The summit was attended by education ministers from 13 states and union territories, officials from school and higher education sectors, Kendriya Vidyalaya and Navodaya Vidyalaya students, and several education leaders from across the country. A multimedia exhibition showcasing innovations in the education sector was also displayed.
The Union Minister paid tribute to Padma Vibhushan Dr. K. Kasturirangan, architect of the NEP, recognising his visionary contribution to education and space research in India. A special welcome song was presented by Kendriya Vidyalaya students, and Minister of State for Education Jayant Choudhury read out the Prime Minister’s message on the occasion.
Shri Pradhan stated that the NEP has moved from policy to practice in the last five years, bringing real change in classrooms, campuses, and communities. He stressed that the policy is deeply rooted in the Indian ethos, with a strong focus on scientific education, innovation, Indian languages, and knowledge systems.
The All India Education Summit, he said, is more than just a conference — it is a symbol of national commitment toward building a better future through education. Calling it a collective resolve, Shri Pradhan urged everyone to move from “classroom to creativity” and from “education to nation building”.
The event set the agenda for the next phase of education reforms and discussed key areas of the NEP. The Union Minister encouraged all stakeholders to ensure that every child receives meaningful, impactful education, enabling them to reach their full potential.
