Union Minister launches Kashi–Tamil Sangam 4.0 in Varanasi

“India’s diversity and linguistic tradition are its greatest strength,” says Dharmendra Pradhan

New Delhi/Bhubaneswar, December 02:
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath jointly launched the Kashi–Tamil Sangamam (KTS) 4.0 in Varanasi. The event aims to highlight the centuries-old cultural, spiritual and knowledge-based links between Kashi and Tamil Nadu.

During his address, Shri Pradhan welcomed all the delegates and said that Kashi–Tamil Sangam, an initiative envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has created a strong bridge of knowledge between the two civilizational centres. He added that the event has now evolved into a mass movement and an important medium of experiential learning.

Shri Pradhan said that India’s diversity and linguistic heritage are its true national strength. Linguistic unity, cultural pride and shared knowledge traditions are at the core of the Kashi–Tamil Sangamam.

This year, KTS 4.0 has been organised with the theme of ‘Learning Tamil’, focusing on engaging youth, promoting knowledge exchange and encouraging the study of the Tamil language across India, beyond Tamil Nadu.
