Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s flagship student outreach program, ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha (PPC) 2025’, has earned a place in the Guinness World Records for achieving the highest number of registrations in a single month.
At a special ceremony held on Sunday, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, along with Railways and Information & Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Minister of State Jitin Prasada, received the official Guinness World Records certificate.
The 2025 edition of the program witnessed an unprecedented 35.3 million registrations, and its television broadcast reached over 210 million viewers, setting a global benchmark in civic engagement.
‘A Moment of National Pride’
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan expressed his delight on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), saying:
“It is a matter of great joy and satisfaction to receive the Guinness World Record for ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’. The program has now become a mass movement, promoting stress-free learning and celebrating student life.”
He congratulated the students, teachers, parents, and schools across the country for this collective achievement and credited the success to Prime Minister Modi’s vision of holistic and inclusive education.
Empowering Students, Realising NEP 2020
The minister added that ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ is more than just an event—it’s a nationwide celebration of education, empowering students to deal with exam stress and shaping a more balanced and confident young generation.
“The initiative reflects the spirit of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasises critical thinking, mental well-being, and joyful learning,” said Pradhan.
He also extended thanks to the Guinness World Records team for recognising the social and educational impact of the initiative.
Not the First Guinness Recognition
Dharmendra Pradhan noted that this marks his second Guinness World Record milestone during his tenure as a Cabinet Minister. Previously, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was presented a Guinness certificate for the ‘PAHAL’ LPG scheme, recognised as the world’s largest direct benefit transfer (DBT) program.
About ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’
Launched in 2018, ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ is a unique interactive platform where Prime Minister Modi addresses and engages with students, teachers, and parents ahead of board examinations. The initiative is organised by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with MyGov.
Over the years, PPC has grown into a highly anticipated annual event, offering practical advice, motivation, and reassurance to students facing academic pressures.
The latest recognition from Guinness World Records is for the category:
“Most people registered on a civic organisation platform in a month”, acknowledging the record 3.53 crore registrations through the MyGov platform for the 8th edition of the event.
