Jajpur witnessed a major political shake-up. Under the leadership of Dharmasala MLA Himanshu Shekhar Sahu (Liku), the BJP organised a massive Mishran Parba that saw thousands of BJD leaders and workers formally join the BJP. The event was marked by a clear show of strength on Jajpur soil.

The state BJP president, Manmohan Samal, attended the function as the chief guest and welcomed the new entrants into the party. In his speech, Manmohan strongly criticised the former BJD government, accusing it of arrogance and disregard for the common people. He said, “God never tolerates arrogance. Maa Biraja herself did not accept it. That is why the change of government began in Jajpur, and we succeeded.”

BJP’s Growing Strength in Jajpur

Himanshu Sahu, while addressing the gathering, made a sharp political statement. He declared that the BJD will be completely wiped out from Jajpur, and the district will turn entirely saffron. He further predicted that former Jajpur MLA Pranab Prakash Das (Bobby) and former Dharmasala MLA Pranab Balabantray (Jitu) will face 14 years of political exile, meaning they may lose hold of their constituencies for the coming years.

Manmohan Samal’s Attack on BJD

Manmohan Samal, in his speech, said that the BJD government treated ordinary people like insects. He reminded the crowd that the people of Odisha gave a clear answer in the 2024 elections by voting for change.

Highlighting the BJP’s promises and achievements, he added:

  • The government has already increased the paddy support price, benefiting farmers.
  • The Ratna Bhandar of Jagannath Temple has been opened, and repair work has been completed.
  • The government has set a target of achieving 100% irrigation coverage.
  • Odisha has received ₹17 lakh crore worth of investment, with another ₹10 lakh crore in the pipeline.

He emphasised that the BJP delivers what it promises. “In just 15 months, we have shown results. What was not done in 78 years will be achieved in 5 years,” Samal said.

The Political Message from Jajpur

This mega joining event and the fiery speeches have set the tone for a deeper political battle in Jajpur. For the BJP, it was a show of strength and confidence. For the BJD, it was a clear warning that its traditional stronghold is under serious threat.

As Odisha’s politics continues to evolve, one question lingers – Will Bobby truly face 14 years of political exile, and is Jajpur on its way to turning completely saffron?
